X-Men: Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse
Into Liquid Sky
20 July 2006
Excerpt: On the successful heels of the first X-Men action RPG , Raven Software has returned with a follow-up that easily addresses any complaints offered on the first game. With a different cast (not completely different) of mutants to use, players will find themselves running through the game to get to the next area, the next objective and the next boss fight.
Pros: Large levels with lots to find, Environments look great and can be destroyed, Large cast, Co-op and online gameplay
Cons: Character models could be more detailed, Lots of loading
Excerpt: In the sequel to last year’s hit, X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse allows players to not only take on the role of the X-Men, but also Magneto and other members of the Brotherhood, as the teams battle against the forces of Apocalypse. With the option to have a team of Brotherhood and X-Men characters, Rise of Apocalypse guarantees one hell of a ride!
Excerpt: The world of the X-men is such a great universe for an RPG to take place in. For starters, it's believable; Second, there are so many unique characters to choose from and you never know who you'll run into next. This is why I enjoyed the original X-Men Legends so much. Not only was it a blast to play, but it was worth the price of admission alone just to hear my favorite X-Men with voices.
Excerpt: For those who don't know, X-Men Legends was released last year, and it was pretty highly taken. I mean, why not? It featured characters from one of Marvel comics' top comic lines. So could a game that was already almost perfect be beaten by its successor? Simply put, the answer is yes.
