If you want to wrestle, there's no better option at the moment than . Graphically on top, filled with possibilities added with an excellent and vast collection of moves and completed with a great control mechanism. Only the models should be a bit more realistic and also the energy meter could use some work. Read more

    • Very extensive, Excellent controls and accompanying moves, Career mode and Create-a-character
    • Models look and move unrealistic, Energy meter is sometimes disturbing, Annoying loading screens

When the SmackDown series began in 2000, it was seen as a fun, but hollow alternative to the deeper Aki offerings. Over time, Aki’s relationship with THQ dissolved, leaving Yuke’s as the primary WWE game developer, and now they’re the only one, with this hollow game engine (originally created for a $15 budget game in Japan) as “the” game engine to represent wrestling for the foreseeable future. In the end, WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2007 is a great game for WWE fans, whether you own a PlayStation 2 or an Xbox 360. Read more

    • Great wrestler models, Great WWE presentation
    • Controls occasionally feel clunky, General Manager mode needs improvement

I have never seen a fighting game with such depth and atmosphere and the twenty years of violent entertainment called WWE are condensed into one fine PS2 title. Those who have never watched a wrestling match will be shocked and the fans will be screaming for more blood, while playing the game before and after the weekly WWE dose, available in the weekend nights. If you are a WWE fan there is nothing that I can say that’s probably going to deter you from buying this game, and probably the majority of fans already have the game as we speak. The game is a very good update to last year and still provides everyone with a satisfying wrestling experience with a ton of modes to play. I don’t think you can go wrong with that. Read more

THE VERDICT: Although this is wrestling don't be put off by the franchise - you don't have to be a WWE fan to enjoy this brawler although undoubtedly it helps. No doubt there are more technical fighting games out there but as light entertainment and for those looking for something a little different, SmackDown vs. Raw is hard to beat. Read more

There’s a Mad Mickey Foley in all of us trying to get out. Mine says “lock up the dog, grab an eight ounce of Vat 69 Whiskey and jump in your canoe for a paddle down the Smackdown stream of fun”. Whether you think that “professional wrestling” is truly a sport for the spectators or just an over-choreographed dance routine with over-muscled meatheads and well-endowed women, there's no denying that wrestling is a superpower in the world of entertainment. Over the years, there have been several upon several video games based on wrestling that have come and gone with the times. Read more

  1. Best Overall Ps2 Installment for the series!

I'll begin by stating that I've also reviewed and given high praise to the original title of this series - but SVR07 is great for different reasons and in general is a different type of wrestler in my opinion. The earlier titles like HCTP and SVR were noticeably more fast-paced in the action and therefore less realistic compared to the real life experience. SVR06 began the more sim-like type of gameplay which some prefer (while others hate - a matter of preference). Read more

nter Milan boss Jose Mourinho recently admitted that he plans to return to the English Premier League, leading The Mirror to sensationally link the Portuguese gaffer with an eventual move to Manchester United. The Old Trafford club moved quickly to play down the reports, but now the link has been strengthened. For starters, a high ranking Stamford Bridge official has revealed that 'The Special One' has always fancied being the Red Devils' ringmaster. Read more

If you love WWE and the games then get this. If you just love the games but hate watching it (like me) then don't bother. I haven't played Smackdown since the 4th (I think, one with Brock Lesner on the front) and let me tell you compare them to each other and the older one is by far the better and makes more sense during storyline (loads of bad grammer that it makes it hard to make sense now and then). WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 completely blows every other wrestling game out of the water. The season mode is better, the general manager mode is better, and the graphics are the best they have ever been. Another good thing about this game is that every superstar is on the brand they are supposed to be on (for the time being). Randy Orton is on Smackdown, and is supposed to be on Raw. Kane is on Raw, and is supposed to be on Smackdown. Oh well, they did all they could. Read more
