Great game, great price! A Classic!

kungfuseven , GameStop

  • Summary: A masterpiece of a game, the winning eleven ( formerly known as International superstar soccer, Now, PES - pro evolution soccer) has become a well known name the world over, however, after purchasing the disappointing PES 2011 on XB360, i decided to give this one a try on the Ps2 for old times sakes.

Winning Eleven 8 International

Zergling Rush, Amazon
17 March 2009
  • Summary: Fun game, maybe not for the casual gamer, but for a hardcore soccer fan, this definitely beats FIFA. I was initially frustrated by how hard it was to actually score a goal, but now I can appreciate "full power aiming for the top left corner" doesn't score a goal ~ 99% of the time, or "long cross to their guy immediately tackle him and score a goal" doesn't fly either, because they can just turn around and shield you from the ball.

The Beautiful Game

C. C. Evans "polymath", Amazon
18 December 2006
  • Summary: As a Liverpool fan, I miss the kits and the Kop - the "Merseyside Reds" and the "Red Cauldron" just aren't the same. So I bought EA's FIFA game for the licenses. EA is better for those who like to watch the sport. Konami's Winning Eleven series is the one to go with if you like to play the game. The players, ball control and ball movement are fluid and realistic. The controls are smooth and intuitive.

Excellent!

  • Summary: Just in case you didn't get it yet - Pro Evolution Soccer 4 is the best football game ever created! I can't wait for the release of ProEvolution Soccer 5. It's been out in England for months now and it's killing me. Buy this game, if you do nothing else with your life it will all have been worth it.

The greatest football game ever

Trevor Cotton, Amazon
16 November 2005
  • Summary: Yes you heard me, the greatest 'football' game, to give it it's proper name. Many Americans, fail to point out, or maybe just don't know that football was invented a long time before American football. Therefore it doesn't deserve to be called 'soccer' by anyone, maybe I can think of a new name for American Football and make everyone call it that instead.

The best football game ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not my real name, Amazon
23 July 2005
  • Summary: First I have to say I love this game!!! The graphics are amazing and so true to life! Even when the teams first walk into the stadium you see flares shooting off and flags waving. So much better than the Fifa series. Those players like me who have become accostomed to the Fifa series controls must take the extra time to go to the trainig mode or you will most likely lose your first 8 games. Im not sure if other players notice this but to me it seems like every ref.

Not my real name, Amazon
13 July 2005
  • Summary: Okay, let's get one thing straight:Not only is this game superior to FIFA 2005,it's superior to ANY other game as well!Konami has gradually tweaked a few things in this series, and now it's virtually flawless.Everything that was once good is now great.Unlike FIFA,(which changes wildly every year)WE is refined to perfection.

I Don't Know the First Thing About Football...

billy, Amazon
8 July 2005
  • Summary: To quote Mike Skinner of The Streets. It is true, at least the football the rest of the world knows outside of my arrogant little country. But I have more than a passing interest in the sport now, due to my writing of a cultural lingiustics paper on the sport, as well my taking in of a few Premier League games this past season, I think that i'm becoming (god help me) a soccer fan. This game only cements my new found fondess for this game.

question

name "signature", Amazon
19 June 2005
  • Summary: I haven't gotten this game yet because I can't decide between Fifa 2005 and this. If anyone has any points that weren't mentioned either way, I would like to hear them. Also, if someone who has this game could answer a question for me: Does Winning Eleven 8 have Major League Soccer (MLS)?
