but that can be a good thing. Cheesy dialogue and laughable voice acting aside

  • Summary: More difficult than the N64 version, but that can be a good thing. Cheesy dialogue and laughable voice acting aside, Winback remains a hidden gem among shooters.

First Impressions

lobothesacred3 , GameStop

  • Summary: Winback: Covert Operations is a game that seems to be alright, but the tutorial alone will allow you to gleam some of the key problems with this title. The first issue is that most of your actions are tied to the square button. Your first impression is that is okay, but firing the weapon makes use of the R1 button and the square button. So, what is the X button used for you ask. You use the X button to reload your weapon.

Pfffft!

Army of Adrian, Amazon

  • Summary: Snore fest. Maybe this would have been fun in 1995, but here in 2009 this game is a bore. You're limited to 3 weapons and this has a very 80's arcade feel to it, only even more lame. This game is a wast of time and effort. Pass on this one.

Winback for the PS2 is an okay game..

  • Summary: WinBack takes the player through the heart racing adventure of Jean-Luc Cougar, a member of the elite anti-terrorist squad S.C.A.T, as he & his team attempt to stop a terrorist group called the "Crying Lions" from using a space sattelite to blow up random spots on earth. But did his team bite off more than they can chew?? I'll start off by saying this game is wicked repetitive, but it is fun.

Solid...But Could've Been More

R.A. McKenzie, Amazon
31 August 2005
  • Summary: I got into this game when it first released for the Nintendo 64, but always knew that it never reached its full potential. Koei was gracious enough to remake this game for Sony's then-new console, but they didn't take enough time in some spots. STORY ---It's not like this really matters, as is the case with most of Koei's games, but basically the terrorist Crying Lions take over a base that controls a weapons-satellite, and it's up to the SCAT Team to take them out.
