Deep, but boring

  • Summary: This game is fun if you're bored. You can go across the world, and play people in fake arcades. Before you play that, you're in for an extensive training mode, and even if you master it and beat all of the arcade mode.... no one you know will play with you. This game is okay, if you have 2 billion hours to learn how to rock it. Great game, if you have the time.

I thought this would be better than Virtua Fighter 4...

  • Summary: I thought VF4: Evolution would be better than the normal VF4, but I was wrong. There's only better graphics, more arenas, and annoying guitar music along with a new mode. The game's addictive at first, but then I wondered why I was wasting my time on it because I ended up dragging myself through playing it. VF4: Evolution does not have a single bit of my recommendation.

Games should be fun not frustrating.

  • Summary: The graphics are great, so is the sound. This game has plenty of depth, as a matter of fact too much depth. A game should be fun this game is frustrating (and I've got through quest mode with two of the characters). The level of difficulty for some of the characters in quest mode is orders of magnitude more than it is for others. With previous Virtua Fighter games (pre VF4) I could beat the machine relably after roughly a month of play. I'm not even close here.

  • Summary: GMR magazine: 10/10 "Best fighting game ever made"-Playstation magazine EGM: 10/10, 9/10, 10/10 After seeing those reviews, I thought I HAVE to get this game!!! Boy, do I wish I never thought that. I was absolutely dumbstruck at how bad it was. You kick people with about 5 different moves, and you can push them off the ring for a ring out SO easily. The voicing doesn't make this exciting at all.
