Deep, but boring

nodnarB, Amazon
20 July 2011
  • Summary: This game is fun if you're bored. You can go across the world, and play people in fake arcades. Before you play that, you're in for an extensive training mode, and even if you master it and beat all of the arcade mode.... no one you know will play with you.

  • Summary: Sega can use the ps2 hardware very well. Graphics are super-sharp, colour is so rich, the speed of the game is excellent. One problem is the japanese text which could frustrate you in some of the modes.

"Virtua Fighter is a Martial Art in itself."

Ryan G, Amazon
29 October 2004
  • Summary: First I have owned every version of VF From Sega Saturn to Dreamcast to PS2. Virtua Fighter 2 is arguably the greatest fighting game, possibly greatest game ever. VF3 was a step forward but had some problems. Vf4 Picks up were VF2 left off. Evolution is the deepest game on the market period.

Zen and the art of Virtua Fighter

Amazon
18 May 2004
  • Summary: I didn't really know where I could post a review for this game, but Amazon seems like a good enough place for now. I don't really want to recap all of the features, or talk about the steep learning curve, I just want to state that this is an amazingly deep game.

Great Fighting Game

J. Schwartz, Amazon
2 February 2004
  • Summary: This game is probably the best fighting game for the old systems (xbox and ps2). It's easily accessible to the beginner, but has so much depth that you can play it for months and still learn new things.

A Classic Remade

B. P. Swapp, Amazon
2 February 2004
  • Summary: Every effect is brilliant, every hit is lightning fast and realistic, and all the physics are strong. If you like button mashing, this game is not for you, but if you're a dedicated fight sim gamer, this is a must for your library.

Okay great game but...

Rich, Amazon
2 February 2004
  • Summary: I must say this game is great but I have a question. Why in the training mode they show how to perform the moves of a character like they are using a joystick, but you cant use the R3 AND L3 buttons in actual arcade or any battle?

A refined edge.

Jason Richard Pickett, Amazon
2 February 2004
  • Summary: Quest mode is reason alone to get this. Earn money, items, ranks, player lists and side-quests to get more stuff. The quests are in arcade and vs mode too. The special tournaments in quest mode are really fun and can be used in other modes when unlocked.

You can play dress up, as you would with Barbie dolls

Tim, Amazon
