Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria

Fragland
7 June 2012
  • Excerpt: Square-Enix seem to be the only ones still developing exclusive PS2-only games, and those are RPGs. We can’t blame them for delivering quality each time but it does make Sony’s previous gen system look like a cheap RPG bomb. Newest in Europe is Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria.

Valkyrie Profile 2

Playstation Illustrated
8 May 2008
  • Excerpt: Ages ago, I played a game called Valkyrie Profile on the PS1. It had a mix of unique gameplay elements and a great, tragic storyline. It deserved its cult standing. With that, I was excited to see what the sequel (or prequel as it were) had in store.

Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria (PS2) Review

  • Summary: Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria is a beautiful game with a rich battle system to back it up. Some of the additions and subtractions may be a little hard to swallow (especially for fans of the original), that does not mean this game is any less excellent.

  • Excerpt: Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria is resigned to the same fate that has befallen Chrono Cross on message boards across the internet. Silmeria takes bits of the original Valkyrie Profile, like the action-oriented battle system and recruitment of Einherjar, and fuses it with a much more accessible linear...

Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria

  • Excerpt: Valkyrie Profile was a major cult classic. It had a unique blend of gameplay, a decent story and one of the best combat systems ever seen in an RPG. However, it was a royal pain in the ass to find copies of, commanding prices in the low to mid $100 range on Ebay at points for sealed editions.
