Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria is a game that will keep you busy for a couple of dozen hours. It's something different - and pleasant - so play a side-scrolling RPG. The story does its job more than adequate and the new combat system is cool without getting boring. The graphics are amazing and so is the music. The voice-acting could have been left out for me, but if you're an RPG fan and want to take out your PS2 once again then you really should buy this one! Read more

I’d take Odin, Valkyrie and the magnificence of Valhalla over typical RPG fare any day. Those whiney teens, hapless females and silly demons just can’t compete with Norse mythology. Or maybe it’s just because I’ve played way too many RPGs with those familiar archetypes. Of course, it takes more than all the awesome things mentioned in Manowar lyrics to make a good game. Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria is a beautiful game with a rich battle system to back it up. Some of the additions and subtractions may be a little hard to swallow (especially for fans of the original), that does not mean this game is any less excellent. It holds up well to the original and a great addition to the series. Read more

Valkyrie Profile is turning out to be a decent franchise, although this iteration is a few IQ points short of genius. Taking a cult hit and squeezing it into a more conventional mold was a bad choice, but still, Valkyrie Profile 2: SIlmeria is worthy of a third entry, which will hopefully be something along the lines of Valkyie Profile 3: Lenneth 2 , call me crazy. “That a game can aspire to artistic importance as a visual experience, I accept. But for most gamers, video games represent a loss of those precious hours we have available to make ourselves more cultured, civilized and empathetic.” —Roger Ebert Film critic Roger Ebert says that videogames aren't artistic in the same way that movies or books are, and he's right. All three structure their stories in different ways: the plot of a novel—William Thackeray's Vanity... Read more

For rebelling against him, Odin transmigrates Silmeria's soul with the Sovereign's Rite. However, the spell is incomplete, and Silmeria awakens within Alicia, the princess of Dipan. Realising Silmeria has awakened, Odin seeks to bring divine intervention down upon her. I like how the story of Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria pans out, the twists are intriguing. The voice-acting is okay but the lip-synching for the FMV sequences are not. Also, the cut scenes seem to suffer... Read more
