If you must have well then buy it but only if

Shaul, Amazon
10 March 2015
  • Summary: What can I say I bought this cuz I'm a collector. The extra features unfortunately are not impressive or interesting if you get this acknowledge that you really are obit going to get it for the alternate case, sleeve, and comic book cuz the limited edition features suck.

A dissapointment...

S. Franke, Amazon
26 July 2006
  • Summary: This game had potential...before I beat it after about 9 hours. Extremely short game, with very little replay value makes for a dissapointing game! Every mission seems the same...Chase a villian through New York for about 15 min., then if you kept up you'll end up fighting the villian. Playing as Venom was cool, but his missions were more or less the same as Spidey's. Chase, keep up, boss battle, thats all the game was about. Gets old real fast!

Don't like it

Ratchet&Spank, Amazon
16 October 2005
  • Summary: This is a game for kids under the age of 13. It has cool comic book style cut scenes but the actual gameplay is short, simplistic, and either way too hard or way too easy. And no you don't get to freeroam with Venom. You can only use him as part of storymode. I've been a huge spidey fan for well over 10 years but this game was a total letdown. If you're still in middle school you might like it.

Gets boring real fast, super short

Christian Saborío, Amazon
8 October 2005
  • Summary: I finished the game fairly quickly without trying too hard. Just like an earlier reviewer mentioned, what you have to do is pretty much the same on every mission. Some of the "chase the bad guy" missions are super frustrating. Its an OK game, definitely rental material.

A great game ruined by bugs

Amazon Customer, Amazon
1 October 2005
  • Summary: The game continuously freezes up in boss battles. This could just be the PS2 version, but it occured with multiple discs. After researching this online I've found it is a very common problem. If a little more effort was put into debugging the game it would be a 4 star game, but as it stands it is practically unplayable.

Waste of 50 bucks

Peggy Jo Bonneville "Bonez", Amazon
30 September 2005
  • Summary: To me this game was a HUGE disappointment, I spent 50 dollars on this game and there is hardly anything to do with it. Unless your into doing the same thing over and over and over again then go ahead and waste your money. but all you do is be spider man, chase a guy, the guy hurts civilians, save the civilians, chase some more, than fight the guy. Thats all you do as spiderman. and as venom you chase, run away, and fight. Nothing more to it.

so much potential

Amazon
10 December 2005
  • Summary: This game is dissapointing. It is very similar to spider-man 2, but you become even more limited. The game focuses around repeating the same missions, with a slight twist to each mission. For example chase the villian down (either electro, green goblin, the beetle etc.) the beat the living !(.) out of him or her, afterwards do a little combat training or race training then start the cycle again.
