Summary: I am not a fan of first person shoot em up games, but after reading reviews of this one, I thought I'd give it a try... Mistake. It was a very beautiful game as far as graphics and scenery, but the play control was CRAZY DIFFICULT! Options weren't easily accessed, and jumping is near impossible!
Summary: OK I am judging this game on the other Turok games. Turok one was a great one player game, Turok 2 was also a great one player game with decent(not fantastic) multi-player. This game is NOTHING like them at all.
Summary: I love Turok; been playing them all since the first. But, they've all been going downhill since then and Evolution is the pinnacle of bad FPS. The story is boring. After a few chapters, I really didn't care what happened to Turok. The controls are incredibly slow and confusing.
Excerpt: Please note that my review and rating does not take into account the multiplayer aspect of this game. While the Turok series might not be extinct, the fifth in the series, Turok: Evolution - released in 2002 - proved to be one of the nails in the coffin of Acclaim Entertainment, whom filed for...
Pros: Cool weapons, mix of styles, decent no - frills action
Cons: Poor story and cut scenes, dodgy enemy AI, no difficulty levels
Excerpt: [Review taken from my website - www.ps2-central.co.uk] If you were looking for a PS2 version of the old Turok game from the N64, now we have! This is basically Jurassic Park but better. All you do is shoot dinosaurs, hunters and alike to proceed onwards to a new mission.
Pros: Good gameplay, graphics and multi - player, weapon choices good
Summary: The first thing that will hit you with Turok Evolution is a grand sense of dissapointment. The Scenery itself fails to inspire, and the AI is almost childish...on the first level if you shoot the triceratops it will understandably go mad chasing you around the main battlefield area..
Summary: i urge anyone who has read the above reviews to ignore them. this game was a real let down. it offers nothing new or exciting to the fps genre a most dire attempt at multiplayer when compared to the likes of timeplitters. the enemies are stupid, showing the same intelligence as on a psone game.
Summary: This is an utterly pants game. It looks great but the gameplay is dull and limited. You can't roam around anywhere, it takes about 50 bullets to kill a baddie and it won't sustain your interest. I rented this out and took it back the next day. This is EXTREMELY dull.
Summary: The Turok series has always underperformed in entertainment value and fun. Turok:Evolution continues this tradition of low expectations. The primary "fun" in this game is the gore and blood that occurs when you kill the baddies. This game has and will appeal to guys who are 15 and below.
