Summary: If you enjoy games similar to Grand Theft Auto you will enjoy True Crime: New York City. You play the game as a cop. You can choose to free roam and take random police calls. That is what I do. Sometimes it gets random glitches such as freezing, etc. You can also choose to be a good cop or a bad cop. You can earn money by issuing bogus traffic tickets. You can buy cars, guns, food, clothes, and CD's to play in your car.
Summary: this is a good game. good weapons, fighting, quick loading. but now the bad things: -cars have awful bad handling. if you touch the analogue stick in anyway ur car will swirve across the road. -slow moving.pedestrians are even slower.there should be a togle run mode like gta. -glitche everywhere. you can walk through buildings?? also the puddles are stupid. better stick with grand theft auto for now..
Summary: This is certainly the better of the True Crime games, a pour mans version of Grand Theft Auto. I think that's the problem with there kind of games, they all get compared to GTA, it doesn't help when they make the comparison themselves. If you want to go by the comparison then the game is GTA from the cop's view. You play as an ex-gangbanger who has become a cop and is now trying to find out the conspiracy behind his partner's murder - it's the usual stuff.
Excerpt: An interesting idea for a game, and fairly well executed. I found the controls fairly similar to GTA: San Andreas but just not as enjoyable to play. After a few hours it just got boring to play in all honesty. Worth a try, but I personally can't see any longevity in the game.
Summary: Pro's: Nice idea, scenery of New York, people traffic; speedy driving; nice fighting skills; numerous types of crime to attend and arrest; interesting storyline; range of vehicles to purchase and upgrade; better controls than its predecessor. Con's: Bizarre vehicle control at speed, a collison sends you wildly out of control, unnecesarily hitting and killing pedestrians and so losing points, all of which you have little to no control over; graphics meachanincs spoils on...
Summary: Eagerly anticipated, after Streets of L.A. and GTA San Andreas, the latter of which seems to have set off a future release of several genre titles with similar characteristics, TC: NYC is an enjoyable game, once you get use to it. Four main missions and a conclusion on them all, numerous opportunities to bust crime of all kinds to earn points that help raise your detective profile and therefore beckon promotion, meaning higher earnings, and you can either take a vehicle...
