Game Freaks 365

  • Excerpt: THPS3 was Activision and Neversoft's second attempt to make a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game on Xbox. The graphics aren't nearly as great as Tony 2X's, but there still is some great physics and collision detection with the ground. The skateboard actually leaves the skater’s feet in this game, making it seem much more lifelike. The only real problem is the outside people and cars inside the level. The cars look like boxes and the people are just plain horrible.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3

  • Excerpt: How exactly does one improve upon perfection? It's a question that developer Neversoft obviously wasn't afraid to tackle, as they've cranked out sequel in this much-beloved extreme sports franchise that manages to improve on gameplay that seemingly had already reached its lofty pinnacle.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3

Game Over Online

  • Excerpt: I’m going to come straight out and admit it. I am a Tony Hawk: Pro Skater (THPS) addict. The first game was excellent and I anxiously awaited the sequel, wondering what could possibly be added to make the best better. THPS 2 arrived and blew me out of the water with crisp graphics, more levels, more characters, and the ability to combo for monster tricks.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3

  • Excerpt: MAN, this game SUCKS! HA! Got your attention, didn't I? Seriously, though, what did you expect? Of course Tony Hawk 3 rocks. It rocks the collective socks off every poor sap that's picked up the controller. Case in point: after countless hours of playing and a mere few minutes before writing this review, a friend dropped by my place to drop off a couple of games. I happened to toss THPS3 in the PS2 and handed him the controller.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3

Sports Gaming Network

  • Conclusion: THPS3 has brought a lot to the table with this new installment. There are new levels, tricks, graphics, and much more. If you liked THPS2, this is a must buy. But even if you have never played any of Tony Hawk's games, this is the one you should try out. There are some minor problems, but they do not affect your gaming experience. And even though the player models look very nice, the environments look a little dated and the player models sometimes look flat-out horrible.

  • Excerpt: The end of July, 1999; I was sitting on the couch watching my precious ESPN X-Games on my precious cable box. The skateboarding vert competition came on, and first up was somebody by the name of Geoff Rowley. Watching him do a couple of kick flips, varials, and finally a Japan air, I was pretty amazed at the performance. Two or three skaters later the crowd erupts! Everybody was on their feet, of course by now, many of you know why.
