Agent Sam Fisher is a super-secretive operative who must sneak into locations and perform actions that few in the government will ever know he's ever done. In the third installment, Chaos Theory , Sam must deal with a new problem - information warfare.

  • Conclusion: THE VERDICT: If previous installments weren't your bag, than this one won't be, either. But if you're a Splinter Cell fan, you will be treated to the finest SC title yet. The online fun alone could keep you playing for a very long time, but the single-player campaign is an absolute blast as well. There is something oddly stimulating about feeling both vulnerable and all-powerful at the same time, being a one-man army that is still human.

  • Excerpt: A long time coming and well worth the wait, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is the pinnacle of the stealth action genre. To say it's gorgeous in an understatement, especially considering the real time complexity of skulking through dynamic shadows, silently slipping past armed guards or subjugating select enemies with nary a peep or scrap of physical evidence left behind to show for it.

  • Conclusion: But on to the action. And in SCCT, while you can sneak around with the best of them, there´s still plenty of control finesse required. First thing you may note is that you have a wicked-ass, nasty looking knife. The chosen weapon of psychopaths everywhere is a deadly tool in Fisher´s hands, and comes in frequent use, whether you´re sticking it into people, or merely threatening NPCs with it unless they hand over useful information.
  • Pros: Revolutionary play style - 30 minutes into the game and you will still be mastering subtleties, Brilliant multiplayer extension, Visuals brilliantly executed; audio the same
  • Cons: You have to stop playing sometime (probably to work/sleep/eat)

Splinter Cell 3 Chaos Theory

PS2 Vicio
17 March 2008

  • Conclusion: Splinter Cell Chaos Theory macht so ziemlich alles richtig.
  • Pros: klasse inszenierte Zwischensequenzen, ordentlicher Sound, BombastOptik, facettenreiche Story, neue Moves (Nahkampf)
  • Cons: teilweise ruckelts
