Summary: If you want a game to put in the ol machine
when you've got some friends over, than there is no better game than Timesplitters. Plenty
of levels, tons of guns, and fast paced action makes Timesplitters the best multiplayer
game on the Playstation 2. However, if you're a poor boy who has really no friends. Then
you may want to leave this one alone. I ,for one, am pretty damn popular and enjoy wasting
hours upon hours blasting holes in my friend's heads.
Pros: Faster than a 14 year old girl in the 90's!, 55 playable characters, Map editor=GODLY!, Hours upon hours of carnage
Cons: Playing single player mode gets boring fast., No Blood, After 35 characters, characters begin to become clones.
Excerpt: By now, the story should be semi-infamous. Members of the team that brought you N64 ubershooters GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark left Rare to form Free Radical design. Their first game? A (surprise) 4-player first-person shooter called TimeSplitters. See, one of the biggest problems with N64 shooters is the framerate. Nobody will deny that they rock as far as console shooters go (well, I will, but that's a different rant altogether), but the framerate was shoddy at best.
Excerpt: Everybody knows that GoldenEye 007 is one of Nintendo 64's premier titles that was born during the first few weeks of the systems release. The game has also received numerous awards such as Nintendo 64 Game of The Year, Best Multiplayer Game of The Year and Best Console Shooter of The Year. Clearly there was no argument that GoldenEye's success came from Rare and only Rare who is Nintendo's only dedicated developer.
