  • Excerpt: As the first in our new policy, The Incredibles will be reviewed based not on how closely it resembles the movie that it is licensed from, but how it plays as a game in a sea of other, closely matched titles from the same genre. Why should a review of a game gain a couple of points because the movie was stunning’ It shouldn’t. I don’t regularly visit the cinema (DVD is good enough for me) – but after playing The Incredibles , I just might be in the queue for the popcorn.

  • Excerpt: Pixar Studios’ films are so packed with details and subtleties that it can be difficult to capture their spirit in a video game. This is the case with The Incredibles, a game that does a good job of capturing the look of its big screen inspiration but fails to capture its soul.

  • Excerpt: It’s amazing how animated films are getting more and more sophisticated and more and more brilliant, while videogames based on these films remain consistently unremarkable. It’s as if a rule exists decreeing that every new groundbreaking computer animated feature be succeeded by a bland and completely forgettable game depiction. Regrettably, The Incredibles, for the PS2, does its best to play by the rules.

Video Game talk

  • Excerpt: With the successes of Toy Story, A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo it seems that Disney/Pixar can do no wrong and they prove that with The Incredibles. Already doing phenomenally in theaters you can hardly walk anywhere without seeing movie related merchandise or reading critical appraise for the film. It should be no surprise then that with the amount of movie related tie-ins these days a game has been released in time for the Holidays.

  • Conclusion: Fantastic movie meets mediocre game and equals... a mediocre game with solid visuals and little else.

  • Conclusion: The game is solo experience only, with no multiplayer. There could have been some simple mini-games like races with Dash, or button-bashing lifting events with Mr. Incredible or something, but unfortunately there is nothing at all.
  • Pros: The levels vary nicely., Proper voice acting is nice., Looks and plays well.
  • Cons: Very basic and easy gameplay., No Multiplayer.
