Excerpt: Bilbo Baggins, as many of us know, is a typical hobbit. He’s portly, laid-back, and perfectly content with never leaving Hobbiton. However, due to his recruitment by a wise wizard and a bunch of dwarves, Bilbo sets out on a quest where he encounters some awkward camera angles, many boring stages, and a final couple levels that hint at what could have been a much better game. So much for the epic journey I expected.
Conclusion: As said earlier I am unable to say just how close the game is to the book but it is a very nice little game and is rather enjoyable. The look of the game may put a fair few people off and it's not going to appeal to those wanting another arcade beat em up, this won't be everyone's cup of tea but anyone who wants a Zelda-esque game to while away the winter nights could do a lot worse.
Pros: Tidy, colourful graphics., Feels right., Good camera.
Conclusion: Leider hat es Vivendi wieder nicht geschafft, die Fantasie-Welten von J.R.R. Tolkien ordentlich in Videospielform umzusetzen. Zu bieder sind Technik und Rätsel. Herr der Ringe-Fans können dennoch einen Blick riskieren, denn das Spiel bietet durchaus Abwechslung für einige Stunden.
