Summary: I was pumped to play this game and unlike others did not equate it to either of the recent GTA's. It is totally different and I expected that. The graphics are good but it just isn't a fun game if you are expecting something non-linear.
Summary: 1. All of the time spent developing this game has been wasted on 'accurately' mapping London, at the expense of gameplay. 2. This game isn't fit to even think about wiping GTA Vice City's rear area.
Summary: What can you say about the getaway? Very detailed streets of London. A long time in production. It has a very poor control system. The cars you drive are sluggish compared to other games like the excellant Vice city.
Summary: I'd heard a lot about The Getaway, almost everything saying how great it was. Once the platinum version was released I went and bought it, expecting a great game. Sadly, I was hugely disappointed. The graphics look mediocre at best, which would be forgivable, were the gameplay not so diabolical.
Summary: Poor is the word I would use. I was forced into buying this game as part of a PS2 bundle that I didn't want. I can see why it was bundled. Actually forcing people to buy this game is the only way I can see it being sold. The cars feel heavy and slugish.
Summary: THe game is slow to start. THe game has slow, sluggish controls. The game has a slow and predictable storyline. THe game has slow characters, who move slowly, and have enourmous, long, slow cutscenes that you cant skip. THe game is quick to finish.
Excerpt: I've read that this is the most expensive game ever made and has been in development for a considerable amount of time, so it should be something a bit special. A gangster game set in London attempting to recreate a Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels atmosphere.
