Summary: I purchased this game without playing it first (mistake #1), thinking it was similar to the Grand Theft Auto series (mistake #2). Although the story line was ok, I didn't like the way the controls worked. Needless to say this game isn't worth the buy in my book.
Summary: Despite the poor critial reviews this game received, I had wanted to try it since it was released since I thoroughly enjoyed the first Getaway. In fact, I would say that 'Getaway' was one of my favorite titles released on the PS2 (at the time, anyway). Well, what can I say? This one didn't live up to the franchise at all.
Summary: This game is not nearly as bad as all of you say it was. The controls were the same as they were in the first Getaway. The story had the same feel as the original getaway. It did add some cool cars and i like that they added motorcycles and other 2 wheeled vehicles ( a bicycle). I got this game for 22 bucks at gamestop used and I dont feel ripped off at all. I feel i got exactly what i payed for.
Summary: This was the continuation in the epic Getaway series. First of all not the best sequel, its true the GTA series truley outdone themseleves compared to Team Soho. Now on to the reviews, graphics are decent not much of an improvement from the first game. Story line is alittle better maybe more appealing to some viewers. And i will agree if you want something decent to play not alot of difficulty buy this game, but dont spend over $30.
Summary: When the first Getaway came out, it was naturally compared to the revolutionary Grand Theft Auto 3. It was the first game similar in the city re-creation aspect to follow GTA3. After years of creation, it was released with much fanfare and a lower price of $39.95. While it wasn't a failure, it sure did not live up to the hype.

Summary: Getaway - Black Monday is the sequel to the Getaway game. This is set in an almost photorealistic version of London, with cops and robbers trading bullets. For better or for worse, everyone is going to compare this game to GTA - San Andreas, as well as to the first Getaway that came out several years ago. So it's a strange situation in that the game is truly amazing in its own right - but it is very weak when held up to the standards of today's gaming.
Summary: Graphics are awesome, and London is very well done (if you've ever been there). The problem with this game is in the difficulty setting...the "combat" portions are VERY easy, IF you can drive to get there...once again, no maps..vehicles handle very poorly, with lots of obstacles. This game could have been great with the addition of difficulty setting, or a some adjustments in the driving aspect...fun game, but not the next Grand Theft Auto.
Summary: I have to admit that I really enjoyed playing this game. But, having said that, I have to admit that it is way way to short. If they had added a few more missions, I would have been much happier. I don't know if they didn't have the time or the space on the disc, or what. The game just flew by. To give you an idea, it took me about the same amount of time to beat this game as it did to beat Katamari Damacy. Maybe that means I was really bad at Katamari, I don't know.
Summary: Played the original Getaway? You won't be surprised here. The camera angles are still dreadful. The swearing flies thick and fast, this is gangland London after all. And the story is a cracker. If these guys could get their script writers together with a better development team this series would be up there with the GTA series. Again the scene is central London. It's amazingly detailed.
Excerpt: "...team members that's part of the big company Sony, This is only there 2nd game they have made which is a sequel to "The Getaway" and currently making the 3rd game in the series for the next generation in the form of Playstation 3. ==STORY== Black Monday does not follow on from the previous game and that you now follow the story of a boxer called Eddie. Pros: Very cheap to buy, now has motorbikes and thats about it .
Cons: Waste of money, very bad car handling, terrable stealth missions and more .
