Summary: My friend and I rented this game over vacation, thinking that it would be great. The graphics looked cool and the story sounded interesting. Yes these were both true, but I think we got 30 minutes of game play througout the whole game. The rest were movies.
Summary: If You want to watch a movie, go to blockbuster, or buy this game. If you want to play a game, then get something else. This is not a game it is a movie. You get to play the parts of the movie that involve fighting. This game..er Movie is short, very short.
Incredible Graffix, Boring Gameplay, and Too Short
13 March 2001
Summary: this game had sick potential. when u first start to play it... u think it is totally sick, great graffix, incredible fmv's.. but as u get farther into the game, the gameplay gets too tedious.. like how many times can u possibly press "punch, kick, punch, kick.
Excerpt: *A review of The Bouncer based primarily on the single-player experience.* Sion's favourite brand of clothing may be Dog Street, but it's surprising there are no run-ins with the fashion police in this game.
Summary: The Bouncer was a fairly early game for PS2. The whole thing seems like the developers put much effort into the graphical detail to impress the gamers and animating video sequences to convey the (very shallow) plot to promote the power of the console's hardware, but forgot about concentrating on the...
Summary: I like roleplaying games. I like fighting games. I like mystery. I like adventure. In the Bouncer I thought I'd found a game that would provide the 'ultimate' gameplay experience. I was wrong.
Summary: I'm only too glad to try out a new approach to gaming and see elements combine to make for a more involving style of play. However when I play a fighting game I'd like the sound effects to be more than the sound of a person hitting another with a balloon.
Summary: Yes the graphics and (DD5.1) sound are very good, the best I've experienced on the PS2. The story is also very good if a little short. Now for the bad points. The loading times on this game are terrible, you fight for 2 minutes, then a bit of story, then some loading, then some more story, then some...
Summary: A game that was hyped to be the future of PS2 games and the best game for the PS2 so far is actually little more than a 3d Final Fight. You have no control over the story, you just have short 3 minute fights with huge cut-scenes inbetween telling the story.
Summary: I've been waiting for this games for some time now and boy was I disappointed. The graphics by no means are superb, great effects, amazing detailed animations, no doubt, square can paint. The sound division, as the visual one, is excellent and one of the of the PS2.
