Tak: The Great Juju Challenge Review

VideoGamer.com
20 June 2008
  • Excerpt: Tak: The Great Juju Challenge is the third game in the series. While Tak's latest adventure is still undeniably a well made children's game, it suffers from a few problems that will irritate anyone looking for a simple, fun platformer. Thankfully, all the charm and humour from previous games in the series remains, lifting the overall quality above that of a traditional kid's title.

Tak: The Great Juju Challenge

Playstation Illustrated

  • Excerpt: Like a lot of things in Tak: The Great Juju Challenge , the graphics tend to stick to the style set by the previous two games. Returning characters look just as good as they have before, while new ones fit the game's "large head", cartoony style. The environments, though not always sticking to the jungle scene, also fit nicely in the Tak-world.

  • Conclusion: Despite its occasional cute moments and the compelling aspects of the cooperative mode, Tak 3 is more frustrating than anything else. The gameplay seems unfocused and doesn't work optimally for either single players or pairs. We even encountered a couple of level-stopping bugs during our play-through of the game. Tak 3: The Great Juju Challenge has a few worthwhile features, but overall, the risk is much greater than the reward.
  • Pros: New co-op mode is interesting, Some cute moments, Great soundtrack.
  • Cons: Buggy and sloppy AI, Point minimum requires too much repetition, Respawning frequently requires a lot of backtracking, Muddy graphics.

  • Excerpt: THQ hasn't done much in the way of creating new franchises this generation, preferring instead to concentrate on licensed games. Indeed, other than the recently released Destroy All Humans, the only major franchise they have launched this generation is the Tak series, now entering its third installment.

  • Conclusion: Tak : The Great Juju Challenge reste un bon jeu dans l’ensemble avec une réalisation et une jouabilité réussies.

Tak: The Great Juju Challenge

InsideGamer
25 February 2006
  • Conclusion: Al met al moet er gezegd worden dat Tak: The Great Juju Challenge toch een vermakelijk spel is.
  • Pros: Samenwerken is leuk, Soms leuke humor, Leuke spelopzet
  • Cons: Cameravoering soms lastig, Grafisch niet altijd in orde
