Tak and the Power of Juju PS2 Review
31 May 2010
Excerpt: Tak and the Power of Juju is a collaboration between kids brand Nickelodeon and THQ. Tak himself hasn’t appeared in his own show as of yet, but if he ever does then we’ll all know where the pilot episode aired and where Tak made his major debut. A character with a potential show, as the rule mostly goes, stars in his/her own platform game, and Tak is no exception, making his first appearance in this enjoyable kid-centric frolic.
Conclusion: Tak and the Power of Juju puts up a good fight against the big bosses of the platform world, with plenty of humour and style to keep you entertained. All in all, Tak is simple good fun for all age groups, and strangely addictive in an undemanding "you don't really have to do that bit if you don't want to" kind of way. With its humorous characters, tidy graphics and easygoing style, you could do a lot worse if you're looking for a platform adventure.
Pros: More jokes than you can shake a spirit rattle at., Lots of original ideas., Open, non-linear levels., Gameplay not too intense, good for all the family.
Cons: Tak's theme is a little childish, and it lacks real challenge for the older gamer., Some dodgy camera problems., You can get a little lost in certain areas.
