Summary: I have really enjoyed the SF series over the years but this game was extremely frustrating to learn. Gameplay is godawful! You used to be able to start a mission over quickly with a push of a couple of buttons; now you have to quit the mission and then wait for the darn thing to reload. This is progress??? Furthermore, you also used to be able to go back to your last checkpoint and start over again with your previous progress. Not anymore.
Summary: Ok, i rented omega stream because i was a syphon filter fan of 1-3, this one just disappointed me, The graphics almost compare with the first game,Gameplay is crap, Online just wont cut it, Mindless Shot em up game. If you are a playstaion gamer,I Recomend the older ones to this, 1.Save money 2.save time insted of wasting it on this. Overall, Sucked.
Disappointing, complicated and not on par with predecessors.

Summary: If you like the Syphon Filter series, perhaps you felt the same anticipation for this first of the series on PS2 that I did. I was disappointed. The story concept was still good...but the designers missed the mark in many ways. Graphics, music and mood are all top-notch. So what didn't I like? First, they deviated from having Gabe Logan as the central character. Instead they offer the ability to engineer your own character.
Mindless Shoot em' up--would be fun if you could see it

Summary: Relating to it's previous games, Syphon FilterLOmega Stain is a 3rd person shooter with little (to almost none) planning of strategy of the shootout. The game usually sends you in a base filled with terrorists of dumb AI but big weapon power (their accuracy can later into the levels be almost bullseye every time)and those terrorists you fight usually will teleport right before your eyes (this does not actually do with the story at all, it is merely a bad placement error...

Summary: Im a huge fan of the Syphon Filter frachise. I own and beat all 3 of the original and ones for ps1 and let me tell you when I got this one I was dissapointed and pissed. First of all I would like to know why the hell your not Gabe Logan in this game!?!?! Sure you can create your own agent but it doesnt feel like a Syphon Filter game without good old Gabe! Now he went from being a professional agent to doing paper work.
Summary: This game is really hard. I haven't even gotten past the second level. You cant save during a mission which makes it hard to have fun when you need to play for 40 minutes to finish a mission. But if you can somehow reach the par times, then I guess it would be ok. The first mission's par time was 11 minutes. The first mission took me 45 minutes. I would rent it first, and decide if you like it. I really liked Syphon filter 1 and 2 but this is to hard.
Summary: Omega Strain tries to please everyone, but it ends up pleasing no one. There are some good things here, like creating and customizing your own agent, but as far as I can see, that's the ONLY good thing and that's certainly not enough to redeem it. The game just has too many mistakes---STUPID ANNOYING MISTAKES---that should've been fixed back in the alpha stage. For example: The missions are incredibly long and confusing and you never know exactly what you're doing.
Summary: The original Syphon Filter was one of the ground-breaking action games for PS2 in recent memory. That was followed by a decent sequel and the execrable Syphon Filter 3. And now, the final chapter. What's good about the game: the artwork is by and large beautiful, and there are some wonderful non-interactive sequences. And of course, how can you go wrong with burning terrorists alive with a taser? That's where the good stuff ends.
Excerpt: The Syphon Filter series started back on the original Playstation as one of the most popular third-person shooters of all time. From there, the series went downhill, and now we end up at Syphon Filter, The Omega Strain. The question you are probably asking yourself is: "Is Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain worth my money?" Well, yes and no.
