Summary: I bought this game a few years ago as I was always a fan of RPG's but I always thought the genre was better suited to a PC. The game was smooth and fluid and big enough to keep me engaged for hours, plus it was tricky enough that I had to really work at it at times. My only gripe with the game was the turn based attack system, it made it annoyingly hard to run away if you were going to die and you hadn't saved in a while.
Summary: this game is amazing! i pivked it up for £2 and it was well worth x5 that. the storyline is very imense, you can find yourself getting sucked into it. joseph (the main charectere) gets stitched up by all the people who helps him and at one point, manages to lose his hand! its genious. the best thing about the spells section of the game is that there are so many. for instance, you can cast death on opponents! its hysterical.
Summary: This game is very good. It is packed full of fun and still has room for hundreds of levels, a lot with bosses. It is very challenging to earn loads of gold, armour, wepons, scrolls, rings and potions. there is also a funny clip at the end of the game.
Summary: Having just played "Balders Gate - Dark Alliance" the similarities are striking - eg:The items you can buy,and having various traders along the way - not that I mind, far from it - I can't wait to get to the next "trading post" to see what more powerful armor or weapon I can afford !. The camera control is terrific, very smooth and you have a choice of an overhead or low view or anywhere in between, you can rotate and zoom in on the action and enjoy the great graphics.
Excerpt: Ever since the first Final Fantasy game, the worlds leading games companies have been at constant battle to create the perfect RPG. It wasn't until the PS2's launch that gamers could experience the true Role Playing experience from their own home. It is extremely rare that a really good quality RPG is produced, and within this minority......is Summoner. From the minute you load the game, you are immersed in a world far from reality.
Summary: Summoner is a difficult game to judge. There are a lot of good and a few bad things in the game but it depends on what you are looking for if you can ignore the game's few bad points and get into a deep, immersive and involving game. If you simply want a quick fix or a graphical treat then "Timesplitters" or "ZOE" are higly recommended. If however, you want to try something different the this game is for you.
Summary: Zelda, eat your heart out! I loved this game! As a hardened Zelda fan Nintendo are going to have to create somthing special to beat THQ's great RPG. It took me 26 hours of gameplay and was i in for a treat during them 26 hours. This is a must for RPG fans.
Summary: Summoner is an excellent game, and although it starts off at an annoyingly slow pace, about 5 hours into the game it becomes much more exciting, especially when you recieve your first summoning ring.Yes, the graphics are pathetic, but as in GTA this can be overlooked.Buy it Now!!
Summary: First of all, this is the best RPG on the PS2 to date. You start off without any tutorial (unlike most rpgs) and it shoots right into the action. So, I wouldn't recommend to beginner RPG players, but to hardcore RPG fans like myself. The towns are HUGE and so big you can get lost. Egsample: One Summoner town is the size of 5 of the largest FF8 towns. Don't get me wrong, Summoner dosen't beat the FF series, but it comes damn near.
Excerpt: Summoner is not like any other console RPG, its similar to the kind of RPG you would find on a PC. Its a fully 3D game with no fixed camera angles like in Final Fantasy 7,8 and 9. You start off as a young boy called Joeseph, he was born with the mark of a summoner on his hand. This mark is a symbol of him having the power to summon great monsters and demons to help him fight.
