Excerpt: Like most people, I enjoy watching movies in my spare time. Comedies, science fiction, dramas, and thrillers – I’m down with watching all of them. But the genre I love the most are action movies, especially the summer blockbuster. See, I’m an adrenaline junkie.
Excerpt: Stuntman puts you on the set of a variety of movies, starting with a low-budget English romp (imagine Snatch with car chases) and ending with a hundred million dollar spy flick (imagine Bond…James Bond).
Excerpt: Stuntman is the latest game from the developers of the Driver and Destruction Derby series, Reflections. In Stuntman , you assume the role of an up-and-coming stunt driver, working your way from low budget independent movies to huge Hollywood blockbusters.
Pros: Terrific driving physics, Stunt Arena, multiple styles of cars and stunts
Cons: Long initial load times, high difficulty, no stunt tutorials
Excerpt: The creators of the Driver series are giving you the chance to do exactly that. In Stuntman you assume the role of a fledgling daredevil attempting to make it big in the movie business. Will you be the next superstar or just another contender trapped in a pile of twisted steel?
Excerpt: One of my favorite movies is Terminator 2 , with a favorite scene being when the T-1000 hijacks a big rig to chase young John Connor. The truck's former occupant is carelessly flung from the vehicle, tumbling onto the speeding pavement below.
Summary: Atari Stuntman is a great original title. Were it not for the extreme difficulty and load times, which some people won't be able to tolerate, then this game would have scored quite a bit higher.
Conclusion: Stuntman offers a new style of driving to an already packed genre, and it works very well, it can get quite difficult and very annoying at times, but you'll hate to fail and you'll always want one more go. Very worthy of your £40, especially if you were a fan of Driver.
