  • Excerpt: While Jedi Starfighter doesn’t too much to raise to bar for great space combat games, it sits pretty at the bar as latest in the LucasArts ’ Star Wars Starfighter/Rouge Squadron franchise, which has always been excellent. Just your average space combat excellence, in other words.

Star Wars Jedi Starfighter

The Armchair Empire

  • Conclusion: The fundamental intrigue of Star Wars, which is rooted in believable technology and moody atmosphere, is mimicked perfectly in Jedi Starfighter. Graphically what returns are the beautiful explosions, epicurean landscapes and the vast sense of scale. Improved are the locals that offer a stepped up level of variety. One early level takes place on a beach during sunset.

Star Wars Jedi Starfighter

  • Excerpt: Back in my heyday in the games industry, when I was enjoying the good life of working for then Richmond, CA-based Gamers.com, I was privy to plenty of upcoming PS2 titles, most of them still very much first-generation efforts. One of the biggest and easily the most pleasantly surprising was LucasArts' Star Wars: Starfighter, a game that was loosely based on the same universe the events of Episode I occupied.

  • Excerpt: Last year, I remember anticipating the original Star Wars: Starfighter. The thought of actually playing Star Wars in 128-bits was mind-boggling, especially on hardware like the PS2's. The day the game arrived in stores, I ran down to pick up my reserved copy. I played the game from the moment I returned home and stayed up all night to get as far as possible. Needless to say, I was pretty damn excited and very satisfied with the game.

  • Excerpt: Among every single gaming franchise; Final fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Mega Man and etc., stands Star Wars, a franchise that has withstood the test of time. Ever since the Atari 2600 and Commodore, Star Wars games have come and go, at first we had the Star Wars: Arcade (1983) game that was released on arcades and then later ported to various consoles including the Amiga, Commodore 64, and Atari 2600/5200.

Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter

Playstation Illustrated
2 December 2000
  • Excerpt: In less that a month and a half, Star Wars: Episode 2 will finally hit the theaters. Of course, if you can't seem to wait that long you can always pick up Jedi Starfighter to tide you over and keep you coming back for a little more Force wielding fun. Jedi Starfighter isn't a Force enhanced leap over Starfighter , but I had very little to complain about then, so it's not much of a problem.
