Summary: I had read so many reviews on this game, and the previous version. So may raved about it, and being the original was the best selling star wars game of all time, so I thought it has got to be worth a crack, as I love the films. I got a copy recently, and I was under whelmed. OK positives are the star wars elements, the music, the film clips, and playing as stormtroopers, jedi's etc. Maybe I haven't got into it yet, but the whole think feels to samey.
Summary: After I played the original game the prospect of a sequal boasting a bigger and better game sounded great.... It wasn't. Probably the most disapointing sequals since the third matrix film. The problem was that it changed too much, and relied on you playing the game for a while, which i didn't because of the terrible gameplay.
Summary: Avoid this game if you're a fan of first person shooters. I was hoping for a futuristic alternative to the average military style fps but this was a huge dissapointment. The game is clunky and lacking in real depth. Sure you can take part in lots of different scenarios from the films, but they lack real playability and you'll find you won't keep coming back.
Summary: Well the game itself its great but I mainly brought this game to play it online BIG mistake, the official servers for this game where up for about a week after its release in November and have been down ever since, and with no reason for this from Lucas arts has made this game crash and burn for me and not to mention the messed up comms, leader board and buddy list which is meant to let you join your buddies game but just dumps you in a random room.
Summary: So…STAR WARS: Battlefront 2…the sequel to the much lauded (and biggest-ever-selling) STAR WARS: Battlefront. Like most people, I’ve waited with baited breath for this and, now that I have it in my possession, is it the classic we’re all waiting for? The answer is simply, no… I admit, I never owned the first game but that doesn’t mean to say I’ve not spent a fair few hours playing it multi-player with mates and having a damn good time.
Summary: Never played the first one but I thought the battlefront concept was interesting so I plumped for this one, played it for two days, and took it back to the shop. Tedious. Long loading times, little player progression, and a terrible single player campaign. Get something else.
Summary: Truly, truly awful. If you've not already got it, buy the original Battlefront. I was really looking forward to the addition of the Space battles but I'd say there was more and better thrills in Pong. There is absolutely no sense of speed whatsoever. During bombing runs on enemy cruisers it takes an absolute age to travel the length of the ship. They're either absolutely massive or I'm riding a bike equipped with photon torpedos.
Summary: The games not bad, but not as good as the first, to start with you can win the game by killing all of the other team as they have unlimited reinforcements, also the story shows what happened between revenge of the sith and a new hope, however the seem to be a lot of Jedi running around at a time when there were ment to be extinct. This makes the game needlessly difficult as the Jedi are hard to kill when you have 10 -20 enemy troopers also shooting at you.
Summary: just my first impressions after playing it last night. The first game was really nice - great graphics, nice sounds, well designed maps - simple all out fighting and didnt deviate from the Star Wars universe. This game is overambitious and rushed i think. They've tried to cram too much in - i dont know if its a new engine to accomodate the new space battles (which are very annoying!
