Summary: I would love to love this, but haven't been able to get far enough to know. It has an extremely frustrating section at the beginning where you have to guide the ship through several gates in a small amount of time, and until you can master that, you are not allowed to go on to anything else. Still working on it.
Summary: Graphics and Sound Effects on this game are pretty good but the part of the game of making your way through a number of star Gates is annoying youhave to pass a numberof them which isn@t to bad but then later you have to go through a large number and there is a time limit, and this is frustrating when you get fed up with it and just want to put the game away and forget about it ,dont be put off by this ,on thewhole a pretty good game especially if your a start Star Trek...
Summary: Oh...... My....... God!!!! I have to say for a ps2 game its pretty dam good, and its by far the best star trek game that I have ever played! Its lots of fun (particuarly if your a star trek fan!), and you can go head-to-head with a friend and battle it out with an impresive array of ships! The controls are a little difficult to master at first but after you have played the first couple of era's you get the hang of it.
Definitely the best Trek game covering all the series

Summary: I had a few reservations about this game before I bought it, wondering if it was anything like Armada. But as soon as I got it, it became all my brother and I played (although on multiplayer he'd usually be the one staying alive for longer). This game is terrific: you can use the major ships from all five series, there is a diverse range of aliens (although I haven't seen the Gorn...
Excerpt: This is another shoot em up with a twist. You have to start with the very first ship the NX class enterprise not much weapons or hull and complete several missions then as you go through the game you progress slowly through the levels each level can take depending how good you are upto 2-3 hours.
Pros: good if you a trekkie
Cons: controls hard to get to grips with and mission breifings cant be skipped
Excerpt: Introduction ************* Star Trek Encounters is a shoot em up space combat game which is similar to Star Tek Legacy with going through all of the star trek time line. The player gets to play as all three Enterprise captains as well as other captains like Captain Janeway which makes for a few interesting missions.
Summary: It's good to see this game polarises opinions. To sum up my review below, the good points are that the graphics and music suit the game well. The missions are varied. The various warships you get your hands on feel different. The bad points are that the game doesn't have a "skip through" various cut scenes, the control system is difficult to master and some missions are repetitive. Yes, this can be annoying...
Summary: Yes I'll agree that the control system takes some getting used to but after a while, the game isn't actually that bad at all. I quite enjoy the graphics and especially the sense of excitement when in combat during the missions. Some of the earlier campaigns are painfully laborious, such as scanning for warp signature trails.
