Excerpt: I have owned all the previous ssx snowboarding games, and without doubt this is the best one of all of them! With all the good points carried forward from the past games with lots of new exciting areas to explore. A very good all round game in my opinion. One of the only downsides to this game is that it can get quite difficult(maybe im just not very good at it!) but despite that i still manage to enjoy myseld everytime i play it.
Pros: very fun game
Cons: can get quite difficult near the end of the career mode
Excerpt: SSX On Tour is a the 4th game in the SSX snowboarding series. I bought this for around £15 from Play.com. I like snowboarding games although this was my first game in the SSX series, Gameplay: The game consists of two main sections, "The Tour" which is the main "career" mode, and then "Quick Play" which is for multiplayer gaming and also quick races.
Pros: Fun gameplay, great soundtrack, good graphics
Excerpt: I own ssx tricky, ssx3 and ssx on tour. out of them all id say that ssx on tour is the best. the aim of the game is to become a well known snowboader or skiier. you have to create a character and while 'on tour' or doing challenges you have to earn hype, which determines how far up the rankings table you move (the idea is to reach the number one spot) the game starts of easily and gets progressively harder.
Pros: Slightly different from the previous ssx's - can choose to have skis
Excerpt: Oh dear, what went wrong? This went from being one of the best sports 'sims' around. Wonderfully playable with a user friendly interface to a confusing, loud mess! Honestly I couldn't work out where I was on the mountain, what races I had competed in, and more importantly, why I was playing this game. All of the things that had made SSX3 such a hit was the massive play area, the tunes, and more importantly the fun!
Summary: All the previous games in the ssx series hav e been based on a solid interface and structure. On Tour changes it around, it goes from the easy to use fun interface into a far more surreal messy scrapbook. Unlike the previous games there is no voice to guide you through and for me the game is the poorer for it.
Excerpt: SSX ON TOUR: The fourth and hopefully not final edition to the SSX series. I played the original at a friends house, and although I struggled to win anything, I enjoyed the challenge and began to practise a little too often. After becoming rather professional, winning all medals and beating any of my friends, I continued to purchase the second, SSX Tricky. This game also overwhelmed me as my sister actually became a playstation addict because of it.
Summary: First of all, the uber trick system has been changed. You no longer use a shoulder button (or two) and square to pull off an uber trick. Instead, you just twiddle the right analogue stick. Hmm. Why they changed it to this, i don't know. I much prefered the original urber controls. Anyway, the game itself is good. But the screen can get a little too cluttered. For example, too many trees, or, too many "non players" as i like to call them.
