Summary: I see a lot of reviews about how bad it is, so I gave it a try. Ends up, it's nothing like the PS3. It's very much the classic 2-D style from the past Spider-Man game from the 90s. It's actually good, and very similar to the classic "web of fire" for the 32x, even the titles are similar. However, the graphics and game play on web of fire for 32x is still better than this PS2 spider-man 2-D.
Summary: I really don't understand why people hate this game as much as they do. It isn't nearly as good as the 360 or PS3 versions, if you have one of those get it for them, but if all you have is a PS2 or a Wii, you should get this game. The action and gameplay is decent enough; it is definately the best 2D Spiderman game to date. Just because it isn't the same as the upper-class versions doesn't mean it's a bad game. I know for a fact that I'm STILL enjoying it today.
Summary: First of all, I want to say that all these bad reviews for the game are fair. Activision produced this game with the obvious intention of making it seem like it was the "real" Web of Shadows that was on other systems. They've done this before. I was burned on the Spider-man 2 game that was supposed to be a ground breaking sandbox style web slinging game, but for the PC they put out a completely different (and badly done) game made for little kids.
