Excerpt: Spider-man: Friend or Foe is a a simple game. In fact, your foes are such a non-threat that you'll wonder if their hearts are really in it. Over the course of the 5-6 hour story you'll fight some of Spidey's most feared enemies, including Doctor Octopus, the Green Goblin, Sandman and more, but there's never really a challenge, leaving you with a feeling that these guys were never that bad to begin with. The premise is simple, if rather silly.
Excerpt: Spider-Man: Friend or Foe looks good. While the look is very stylized and cartoony, it holds up well. Spidey looks like Spidey and the various villains you'll encounter look like they should - not like they do in the movies, necessarily (Doc Ock specifically), but they still look good. The areas you'll visit are nice in appearance and have a decent variety. I really liked the outside area in Japan, with its looming anime balloons and such, as you traverse the rooftops.
Conclusion: THE VERDICT: SpiderFoF is deserving of everything bad those many previews wrote about it. It's lazy, boring and not as cool as it seems to think. It's sure to be a big hit as a Christmas present for all you little tykes out there, so just be glad that it doesn't last too long so you don't have to fake liking it for an age.
