Excerpt: Sonic goes hand-in-hand with racing games as if it were the perfect romance, and it’s not difficult to see why the blue hedgehogs secondary soul mate is racing. It’s really quite simple, Sonic runs at impossible speeds, and racing is at its ultimate best when speed limits are smashed. Unsurprisingly the speedy one has appeared in racing games in the past (Sonic Drift and Sonic R) although this time around Sonic and company hop onto some unnecessary hover boards.
Excerpt: Graphically, Sonic Riders looks like many of the other Sonic titles to come out. Characters and locations are detailed, but nothing really special. The only time the game's visuals really shine is during the pre-rendered cut scenes. During these times, all of the characters come off very well, but with almost a plastic quality to them. Either way, Sonic Riders is a fairly good looking game, it's just not the next great thing.
Excerpt: Speed is the name of the game in Sonic Riders:Zero Gravity for the Wii. Granted Sonic was a pretty fast critter in the first place, but strap that blue Erinaceidae onto a hover board and then see what you've got. And what is it that you've got? Read on to find out...
Summary: SEGA's Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity is a fast-paced new Sonic racing game created by Sonic team that takes Sonic into never-before seen worlds with edge-of-your-seat racing intensity and all-new gravity controlling moves.
Conclusion: I swung back and forth so many times on Riders' gameplay that I nearly had an emotional breakdown. The game can seem impossibly difficult until you learn all the shortcuts and master every turn. If that's your cuppa tea, get all over it. If not, rent it.
Excerpt: A different experience – lost something though Sonic riders, supposed to be the sequel to Sonic R, which had no plot. I loved it. The new one then has to beat the original Sonic riders. But I want to firstly point out that I am disgusted by the reviews already out there. They say the same, ? controls are bad?, ?far too slow?, ?far to short attitude. I’m sorry, all of them are wrong.
Pros: Almost the same as the original Sonic Riders, It has Sonic R in it’s genetic makeup
Cons: There is a certain way to play it to get full thrill., Its lost something
