Summary: To be fair the small maps were still pretty amazing. But this game marked the beginning of the end for the Socom franchise. It strayed too far away from it's roots and tried to be Halo SEALs edition. The large maps were a mess and were not good for the small player base.
Summary: I've only played the 1st socom game and the 4th socom game, all great games. Now the reason it is an inprovment is you can choose your difficulty level, you get checkpoint and you get, diffrent teamates for each location, and level selection.None of which are in the 1st socom game.

Summary: I am a campaign player, and have never tried the online element of this game. Summary: Dont get me wrong Socom 3 is a must buy. Single player is fun but online is simply awesome. The only complaint I have is somthing that has occured in every socom so far, the dumb A.I. I mean really it gets annoying sometimes.
