Sly Cooper: Thievius Raccoonus

Just RPG
18 September 2005
  • Excerpt: This game looks kinda shady, but at the least it gives off the image of a decent platformer or time consumer. It's both. Sly Cooper is the main character, an abnormally tall raccoon that walks on 2 feet and wears a ninja outfit all while taking out several hundred enemies with his... cane. Cool, huh? Eh.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

Playstation Illustrated
15 September 2005
  • Excerpt: The promising demo we saw at E3 is all grown up, and it has turned into one hell of a cool game! Yeah, there was no doubting this would be a fun game, a good looking game with plenty of promise. But the extent to which Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus has managed to 'wow' us is very impressive. See, we're not always 'wowed.' In fact, we specifically put that in quotes because to actually wow us you'd have to..

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

The Gamers Temple
10 August 2005
  • Excerpt: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus can be classified as a platform game, but within a few minutes of play it quickly becomes apparent that it is not your run of the mill platformer.  Instead of forcing you to rely on the split-second timing of your jumps, Sly Cooper emphasizes stealth, and you can make it past many enemies simply by sneaking around them.

  • Excerpt: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus is 3D platforming with a dash of stealth, shooting, and racing thrown in to sweeten the mixture. One of the secrets to Sly Cooper’s success is that it never loses sight of its objective: to be a platformer. It never varies from that course while tossing in innovation.

  • Excerpt: If you're reading this review hoping it will sway you towards picking up a copy of the game, don't even read another paragraph. Just stop reading right now, turn off your computer, scoop up your car keys (or the nearest car keys you can find), and haul butt as fast as the law will allow to the nearest games store and pick up a copy. Hell, you know what?

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

Game Over Online
17 October 2002
  • Excerpt: At this years E3, Sony gave out Sly Cooper demos that included exactly one half of the first world’s stages, and from that demo we were able to realize that this game was shaping up to be very good. What could not have been known from the demo however, is just how kickass the finished product would actually turn out to be. And boy does it ever kick ass. The demo was only a drop in the bucket compared to what you’ll see on the final build of the game.
