SingStar Pop Vol. 2

Playstation Illustrated
13 March 2009
  • Excerpt: SingStar Pop: Vol. 2 comes across visually just like all of the previous iterations. The interface is crisp and clear and very easy to read. It has a little bit of an attitude to it, showing icons of a little rubber ducky if you score somewhat on the low side and you are billed as a "wannabe" or a shooting star icon for a good score that earns you the rank of "rising star" and so on.

SingStar Pop Vol. 2

The Gamers Temple
22 December 2008
  • Excerpt: The SingStar series of games is still going strong on the PS2, the latest of which is SingStar Pop, Vol. 2. Each release of the game has left the gameplay itself untouched, essentially using each new release as a substitute for the lack of support for downloadable content on the PS2. This is not really a bad thing, because the core gameplay certainly does what it does well enough - provide a fun way for friends at a party to enjoy a little video karaoke.

SingStar Pop Vol.2

Game Boyz
6 November 2008
  • Excerpt: I don’t know what it is but every time our Editor-in-Chief hands me another SingStar game, I get a little excited even though I am a horrible singer. There is just something about throwing a SingStar disk into the Playstation console, setting up the microphones and busting out some lyrics which really get’s me energized. Usually my wife and daughter join me as we scroll through the set list and randomly pick songs to sing.

  • Conclusion: While they're certainly not bad games by any means, familiarity breeds contempt, and I'm juuuuust starting to get irked by the lack of freshness.

Singstar Pop Vol.2 (PS2) Review

411mania.com
18 October 2008
  • Summary: If you are a Singstar fanatic you probably already have this game, so the only people I really need to appeal to here are the casual folk. If you are mostly a solo player that is looking for a singing game this isn’t it. Go buy Singstar for PS3 if you want that because at least you can just get new songs for $1 each. If you have a lot of friends and like the tracklist on here, then have at it, I’m sure you will enjoy it.

Expert Review

PSX Extreme
25 September 2008
  • Excerpt: Despite hitting it big on the PlayStation 3 already, the SingStar franchise will continue to live on the PS2 for quite sometime. In fact, there are still a number of SingStar games to look forward to following the release of SingStar Pop Vol. 2. Those future games include SingStar Country and SingStar Legends.
