Summary: I'm sorry, but I still comprehend the fact that this shooting game is missing a gun. I know this is a slow sniper game, but still... Imagine playing Area 51, and all the great Sega Arcade shooting games without that big freaking gun. Besides, that, this game's great... I've tried shooting pedestrians, but was banned from doing so. Damn.
Summary: The graphics are definitely awesome and the strategic choices abound, but the more I play this game, the more I wish I had a gun-type controller in my hands. Also, in a possible departure from the arcade game, the story mode could use more long-term progression using memory cards. Still, it's a good break from playing SSX and NHL 2001 all day.
Summary: dont get me wrong this game is great but it is so liitle and you can beat it in less than thirty minutes if you are playing it for the firs time. i played this game in the arcade and it was my favorite game for a long long time. when i saw that it was coming out for ps2 i perorderd it right away. when i took it ome i was thinking i got a big long lasting game. well it ended up i beat the game in about thirty minutes. this game is completly the same from the arcade.
Summary: I bought this game when I picked up my PS2 on launch day, and I was a bit disappointed the first time I played it but it took time to get used to. While the graphics and sound are good, they are of PS1 quality. I loved the arcade version, but the PS2 version is a bit difficult to get used to as you use the controller to move the reticle, much like the old Area 51 game for PS1 (I guess it would have cost a bit more to include a scoped HK PSG-1 rifle with a cable to hook...
Summary: When I played this game in the arcades, I thought it was a blast so naturally I was looking forward to the ps2 version. It's basically arcade perfect, except of course without the gun. Still, even without the gun, this game is fun and even addictive,if only for a short while.Unfortanately, it also becomes a little dull and repettive and at times you'll find yourself wondering "why would they release a gun game with no gun?
Excerpt: [Now also found on my website - www.ps2-central.co.uk] Sypnosis: "They can run, but they can't hide" Have you got the nerve to become the best sniper in the business? A perfect conversion of the arcade classic bursts onto Playstation 2, offering all the spine tingling thrills of a lone sharp shooter. Pick out your target, hold your breath and squeeze the trigger. You'll need pinpoint accuracy, combined with super fast reactions, if you're going to nail the enemy.
Pros: Great graphics, life - up women (lol), snipering, same fun as arcades
Cons: No sniper gun peripheral, only a single player game
Excerpt: Silent Scope is a shooting game with a twist, you use a sniper rifle instead of a normal pistol or machine gun. You play an expert sniper who has to help the police on an extremely inportant mission. The president and his family have been aptured by terrorists and you have to help save them. The levels vary from sky scrapers, hotels, helicopter levels, car chases and levels at night where your scope turns into a night vision scope (very cool)!!!!!!
