Machines that Go Bing!

  • Conclusion: Version 5 also features an ‘active wound system’ which means you have to treat specific wounds as you might in real life. This could mean that enemies target specific parts of your body that are already wounded adding a sense of intelligence to the antagonists.

Silent Hill: Origins Review

PlayStation Universe
8 April 2009
  • Summary: With not a lot of shock horrors available for the PSP, Silent Hill is definitely a Godsend. This title would be worth the purchase at a console price. From the beautifully detailed look, to the perfect score, 0rigins will drag you in, beat you down, and then pull you up and in for another exhilarating play-through.
  • Pros: Graphical details, Challenging Puzzles, Incredible score
  • Cons: Camera could use work, Too many weapon placements

Test Silent Hill Origins

Generation NT
23 December 2008

Silent Hill: Origins

Playstation Illustrated
5 December 2008
  • Excerpt: Silent Hill Origins may already sound familiar because it came out a number of months back on the PSP. Sadly, the PS2 version looks like a direct port from the PSP and that doesn't say much for the graphics. While this game looked pretty good on the PSP, it doesn't really look like the graphics were scaled up for the move to the larger screen, which is a shame. Everything is dark and dismal, at least while you are indoors.

Silent Hill Origins (PS2) Review

411mania.com
11 September 2008
  • Summary: doesn’t do anything new. It’s the same formula gamers have been either loving or hating for years, so any recommendation depends on which side of the fence you happen to sit on. This is undoubtedly , as both the enduring strengths and glaring weaknesses are on display. There’s a lot to like, but there’s a lot that’s pretty long in the tooth, as well. Hopefully, the upcoming can take a cue from this prequel to figure out what still works, and what needs an overhaul.

  • Excerpt: If you like your videogaming with mood, polish and some freaky scares, it doesn't get any more consistently stylish or creepy than the Silent Hill series. Silent Hill Origins specifically, meanwhile, is illustrative of why the ol' PS2 is still a relevant game system.
