Summary: I had high hopes for this game after I played and beat the first two, but this sequel could not continue the good name of Silent Hill. The overall game play is below average and the monsters are poorly done. Although the cut scenes were pretty cool, I was not impressed with this game. Also, the series continues to be confusing, and if your looking to get lost in a game, or laugh at some "monsters" then this is your game. Overall grade: C-.
Summary: Let me get something out of the way right NOW in the beginning of the review- it bothers me a little bit the masterpiece that is the original Silent Hill is *constantly* being pushed to the back so people can admire the sequel instead. I have the opinion that the first Silent Hill is where the ultimate horror experience can be found. For whatever reason though, time has NOT been kind to SH1 and all the attention went to the (supposed) improvement that is Silent Hill 2.
Summary: I've always heard my friends talk about the "creepy" Silent Hill series. I had always wanted to try a Silent Hill game out, but it seemed every retailer I went to just didn't seem to carry these games other than Silent Hill 4: The Room. Finally I found Silent Hill 2 used in a small little gaming store in Houston. I bought it for $10 and was glad to see it was in perfect condition. Anyways, let's get on with the game and quit rambling about my story.
Summary: Don't get me wrong, this game is still quite creepy and has a nice little collection of monsters that will keep you on your toes, but the overall creepiness and gameplay was not nearly as good as the second game and I was a little disappointed after spending $40 on it (more than twice what I paid for the 2nd one!).
Summary: This game holds a spot very near and dear to my heart as being my favorite surrivival horror game (and I've played a lot of them), so instead of getting all mushy on you all, I'll mearly give you some of the basics. Let me stat by saying that many people believe this game represents one of the finest examples of story telling to have ever graced a video game and I will spoil none of it in my review.
Summary: This game is almost everything I hoped it would be. The sound elements were very good, the graphics were amazing, and it definitely was scary. However, while I love being scared, especially if it's a game that's scarring me, I also want there to be an element of entertainment, and that's where this game fell short for me. The game's story gets off to a good start, but the gameplay gets off to a slow start. A SLLLOOOOWWWW start.
Summary: DONT BUY... WASTE OF 50 BUCKS...DONT TAKE MY WORD....TRY A DEMO AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!!!.....Great graphics, boring storyline, bad controls, and the fog....oOoOoOoO that fog will get on your nerves!
Summary: An impregnable darkness lingers within the corridors of the haunted hospital, a faint yet disturbing crackling sound echoes close by, then the shuffling of feet. A silence wells over the man plodding through the blood dried halls. Handling a crude pipe and a trusty flashlight as he's only means of protection, James Sunderland goes on. The impenetrable mist of fog harbors unseen monsters, they hunt him, leaving hints of their presence with distorted cries.
