Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams

Adventure Classic Gaming
15 October 2011
  • Excerpt: Silent Hill is the archetype of survival horror adventure. Since the series' debut in 1999, Silent Hill has had its fans hiding underneath bed sheets, too terrified to enter the eerie town of Silent Hill. Silent Hill 2 continues the formulaic series by featuring different characters, settings, gameplay, and a completely new storyline to ensure that gamers do not have to play through the original Silent Hill to get the most from this sequel.

Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams

XboxAddict.com
27 October 2006
  • Excerpt: First off, let me tell you that this is a game that will ACTUALLY give you the creeps. Period. Now, maybe its just me, but when I saw the very first boss in the apartment complex, and what it did to that poor dead body. Eeccck! Silent Hill 2 is the first game (that I have seen) to have an excellent deep storyline and have the abilities to scare the pants off ya. This game is not all picture perfect glory with, its laughable voice overdubs.

Silent Hill 2

Game Over Online
25 October 2004
  • Excerpt: When Konami released Silent Hill for the PlayStation in 1999, it took the survival-horror genre by storm. At the time, Capcom’s Resident Evil series was the undisputed champion of horror games, but Silent Hill was more than up for the challenge. Opening with one of the best introductory sequences in recent memory, Silent Hill immersed gamers in a dark and twisted story that kept you on the edge of your seat.

Silent Hill 2

Playstation Illustrated
19 April 2004
  • Excerpt: Ok, first let me say Wow ! The sleepy, creepy little town of Silent Hill looks absolutely fantastic on the PS2. I sat enthralled with the mist alone for quite some time. Pitiful, I know, but it's really cool mist. It's simply breathtaking. That being said, the detail in the environments that you will traverse is quite good. The characters are all far improved over those on the PSX, but that is understandable.

  • Excerpt: The plot is an intricately woven tale of what darkness lies deep within the human mind…and what actions people are truly capable of. It revolves around James Sunderland, who receives a letter from his wife, telling him to meet her in the quaint town of Silent Hill. They had spent time in Silent Hill some time ago, and she wants to meet him in that “special place”.

PSX Extreme
22 October 2001
  • Excerpt: Konami is back in an attempt to outdo them self again, presenting us with a survival horror that is more eerie, frightening, and outright creepier than their first venture into the world of Silent Hill. When looking back at the first title, my impressions of the game were very high. Konami had given us a game that stretched the bounds of its genre, and offered a title different than its counterparts.

Silent Hill 2

TotalPlayStation.com
7 October 2001
  • Excerpt: The game that took it to Resident Evil on the PlayStation is back, only this time with realistic graphics and great sound. But can it live up to the name? Imagine for a moment you're roaming about the dark and eerie fog filled streets of Silent Hill, just like our protagonist James Sunderland. All that comes between you and a certain death is a wooden plank and a small flashlight in your shirt pocket.
