Summary: Apocalypse is a great premise and setup for SMT, which is why I prefer the DDS series and the main series games more than the Persona games, keeps that feeling of dread. And this game does it excellently while providing more of a story than Nocturne. More characters, more interaction and story, but as a result a little bit more linear than Nocturne where you could wander quite a bit.
Summary: And its a real deceiver. Another great spin-off to one of the original ground breaking RPG series of all time! By deceiver, I mean it should not EVER be treated as a mere-generic RPG, especially when hell has broken loose! And to top it all off, you can transfer your status from this game to the second entry should you complete this game & acquire its sequel.
Summary: original and well done. Has good story and unique and simple gameplay. You have to play to to get the full story. Only complaint is the high encounter rate. Could use a little more scenes in the middle of the game.
Summary: This game is probably in my top 5 RPG's for the Playstation 2. This game is definitely NOT for children, it does go into some dark and deep things, it also touches on some philosophical points as well. If you like a deep and involved plot then this game certainly delivers in a lot of ways. The battle mechanics are easy enough to understand but they definitely DO NOT hold your hand in this game.
Summary: Honestly, it's perfect. DDS is a classic turn based JRPG with a few twists. You level, you learn new skills, you crawl dungeons and fight monsters, but every aspect of it is done absolutely flawlessly. The story is great, dark, tragic, and in places even uplifting. All the characters are well differentiated and the style of the game is only matched by some of the other masterpieces of the Shin Megami Tensei series.
