Excerpt: The early 90’s saw the release of Capcom’s Street Fighter II, which popularised and forever changed the one-on-one fighting game genre. SNK had responded with the likes of Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, and in 1994, combining characters from both games (as well as the likes of Ikari Warriors and Psycho Soldier), The King of Fighters series was born.
Excerpt: Voodoo, magic, the dark side… All perfect tenants on which to base a video game series. Shadow Man: 2econd Coming has all of these elements, as well as a fair amount of action to keep fans of the 3rd Person Action genre coming back for more. In Shadow Man 2, the player assumes the role of Mike LeRoi, alias Shadow Man, a character with the awesome responsibility of defending the world from the forces of darkness.
Excerpt: I wanted to like Shadow Man: 2econd Coming, I really, really did. It wasn't because I was a fan of the first game (I'm not), and it wasn't because I wanted to see something original from Acclaim stand up on its own in the midst of their current run of bizarre Sega game publishing decisions.
Excerpt: The story begins in 1976 New York City, two police officers -- one being Thomas Deacon, who will later become a self-proclaimed demon hunter -- promptly stop at a building in downtown New York. As they emerge from the vehicle, a huge explosion within the building ignites most of the building, engulfing it in flames. Once they enter the building, they are greeted, in a pre-death like manner, by a demon.
