This colossus has some very high points and some low points.

  • Pros: Killing giants is fun
  • Cons: everything in between is tiedous.

Shadow Of The Colossus...aka...an interactive art piece

  • Summary: If like ultra-short...this one is for you. If you like interactive art pieces...this game is for you. If you like games with real depth...this one in NOT for you.
  • Pros: Graphics. Control. Overall Gameplay. Interesting concept.
  • Cons: Short. Redundant. Lack of characters (friend or foe) to interact with. No real replay value.

  • Summary: What iz this? This haz to be one of the most overated gamez in a long time. Granted, the battlez with the colosae are freakin' awesome, but everything else mostly sucks. The game almost feelz az if itz not completely finished. This waz, for the most part, a waste of my time. Although, not a horrible game in relation to some otherz, given the hype surrounding it, I wuold have to say that I am highly dissapointed.

  • Conclusion: I was looking forward to playing this game after all the good reviews I had seen, but it did not grab me like I thought it would. Perhaps it was the empty feeling in the main map. Personally i like side quests of the main plot which this game lacks..

  • Summary: Shadow of the Colossus is a great game, but it could have been better. The game itself has a great story behind it. You play the role of a hero who has to find and destroy giant colossus's. The game is a fun game, but there are some bumps in the road that should have been smoothed out before the game was launched. First of all, an adventure game has never been so easy to complete!

  • Summary: I loved Ico and still play it today and I was hoping for a sequel but this will have to do. Where Ico was an epic journey Shadow is a painful one. The game is in the same tradition as Ico as far as graphics and the look of the main character. This is a move from point A to point B, fight and repeat game. It's basically a Boss fight game which can get difficult due to poor camera and controls. The colossus are amazing to see in action that's for sure.

The alternation between empty exploration and boss battle may not appeal to all

  • Excerpt: Much like its predecessor Ico, this game, for me, is huge and beautiful but ultimately fundamentally flawed in the gameplay department. The storyline is relatively weak for this game, but that is of little importance. You find yourself in a position where you must fight several colossi, one after the other in what are essentially a number of boss battles one after the other.

Overall, not a bad action game with puzzles

  • Excerpt: This is a great game I found on the Playstation 2 and the word 'Colossus' for me has double meaning. It not only describes the monsters you fight in this game but also the game itself as it's huge. The opening section of Shadow of the Colussus is a cinematic depiction of a young man who is slowly riding on a horse to an enormous cathedral. As you watch the young man places the body of a young woman on an altar, and implores a spirit to bring her back to life.

  • Excerpt: When this game was released I had such high expectations for it, its been a long time since I have got excited about a new and unique game. I was getting bored with the countless updates and sequels available and this was billed as a truely unique title. So soon after its release I packed myself off to GAME to spend my (hard earned) birthday money......... I had previously heard a lot of good things about this game.
