Summary: I really like the idea of having a mystery to solve in a video game and the time travel aspect of the story is also a good idea for this mystery. I was impressed that there's no blood and gore and your character never uses any weapons--and don't get me wrong, I have nothing against blood and gore or weapons (I love "Resident Evil" and "Silent Hill.") It was just refreshing and different not to see those things in a video game.
Summary: Mind you this game is somewhat older now and can be found in most bargain bins. however not all games in the bargain bin are worth picking up. This game was anice break from traditional role playing and adventure games. It looks a lot like Silent Hill just much simpler and easier. Also not as gory or scary. The game has an eerie tone to it but thats mostly cause you get killed like every 5 minutes. The graphics are so-so.
Summary: but - it gets just a little frustrating after awhile. You get used to just punching the O button to get the talking scenes over with, and then you discover - ooops, they really said something different this time, and suddenly the clock ticks and you're DEAD dead. Well, lets do it again - just to discover you get the same ending the third time you played through it as you did when you first finished it. Also it really isn't MASSIVE.
Summary: The story line is somewhat interesting, but the graphics are not that great compared to other PS2 games. It is not too difficult to figure out what you are supposed to do, but it IS difficult to accomplish each thing that you are supposed to do. Overall this is a much better game to rent than to buy.
Summary: Of all the games I've played, only few have stories that are incredibly well written. These plots could be made as movies, but are a little too complex to be profitable, so I am glad to see them pop up in games. Shadow Of Destiny has a plot to kill for. The characters are very well personified and the voice acting is very well done, which is gladly seen in a video game.
Summary: The whole idea of this game is just amazing. I find the story captivating. Really the only complaints i have is 1) the voice acting is terrible to the point of funny and 2) Most of the game is just a movie. I mean when i buy a game i want to play not sit and watch. Would i buy this game....probaly not, would i rent this game or borrow it from a friend .
Summary: Shadows of Destiny, hands down, has the most engaging story of any game I have ever played. Probably a third of the game is CG movies--which are great at moving a story. The voice acting, if not perfect, is well above average for a video game. The graphics, as other reviews attest, are simply top-notch, making this game a visual feast. Indeed, it is interactive cinema, if I have ever seen it.
