Summary: Shadow Hearts 3 is another game that suffers from being in the shadow of greatness. The first two entries in the series were not only direct sequels to each other, but where amazing games, far outpacing anything else on the PS2 at the time. While little in actual game mechanics has changed from 2 to 3, the setting and tone has. For those not familiar with Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts Covenant, they are turn based JRPGs, very similar in style to classic Final Fantasy.
Summary: I'll say I love this game, it had at the time great graphics and honestly I still like them even now. It has tons of side quests that are really fun and also challenging. The characters are all funny and quirky in their own ways and it just gives a really fun side to all the seriousness of the story. I love going around all these famous places and people in American history and seeing them in a new creative light if this had been our world.
Summary: I love shadow hearts 1-2. God they were amazing. I played part 3. While i was playing it. The grpahics went to Hell. It was a down grade from ther others. The voice was amazing. The battle system was awesome. the story was just not there. the game drags on and on. It was badly written and design. I love 1-2. I still play them on My PS3. I beat this game 2 times to see 2 endings. The second time. I had to force myself to play this.
Summary: There's not much to say; the battle system is appealing, the choice of characters for your party is an interesting bunch (From a drunken, talking cat that knows martial arts, to a ninja who can make a weapon out of ANYTHING), and a beautiful experience, considering the system. ...that being said, it's not exactly ground breaking. The battle system feels re-used, the story line has a good bit of cliche moments, and the sound does get fairly annoying after awhile.
Summary: Holy crap, this game is terrible. Absolute garbage. What a waste of time. They should of just stuck with the first two, excellent Shadow Hearts and let the series end on a high note there if this is what they created after those two stellar games. Ugh, let's get this over with. Gameplay - If you played the first two, (and you really should if you haven't) you know about the Judgement Ring. If not, here's the basic run-down.
Summary: For anyone who has played the first two Shadow Hearts you will be really upset with this game. The characters are all bland including the new main character. The story is not entertaining, and you will eventually find yourself giving up, although not before you've wasted a good amount of time waiting to see if the story picks up.
Summary: This game is nothing compared to Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts Covenant. I really did not get attached to the characters like I did with the previous games. I enjoyed the bit roles from old characters like Lenny, Roger Bacon, Keith Valentine etc. but they were just that...tiny roles. And the Valentine sister, so annoying. If you really want a good game, play Shadow Hearts Covenant.
Summary: I'm of the opposite opinion of most people who played this game. Unfortunately, I'm a fan of the original, having played it first, while many who have played this game did not have the benefit of the first. I felt that much of the story was ridiculous, turning the series into a farce. Everyone has their right to enjoy it, if that's what they did, but it was not for a die-hard fan of SH1.
