The Judgment Ring Goes for Another Spin

RPGamer
15 April 2010
  • Excerpt: "Europe. 1915. The Great War has spread across the continent like wildfire. A young German officer leads troops into the village of Domremy in France under orders to secure it for the empire and stamp out resistance." Toss in a baritone narrator and some grainy footage, and this is how it would play out on the History Channel.

Cool Judas

RPGamer
15 April 2010
  • Excerpt: Shadow Hearts; Covenant, the third game in the burgeoning Koudelka series, makes significant improvements over its predecessor in nearly every conceivable area. However, and while the game is very good and a lot of fun to play, certain parts of the game make it hard to reconcile with the other two titles in the series.

Shadow Hearts: Covenant

Thunderbolt Games
6 January 2007
  • Excerpt: Forget what you learned in history class: Princess Anastasia was a feisty princess that traveled the world defeating monsters, and Rasputin sold his soul to a demon in exchange for magical powers and a sweet fortress. Also, the catastrophic casualties of World War I can be blamed on a secret society that unleashed “malice” upon the world from a building at the Vatican.

Shadow Hearts: Covenant

The Gamers Temple
2 March 2006
  • Excerpt: Shadow Hearts: Covenant is set during World War I, a most unusual setting for this style of RPG to be sure. The German War Machine is pumping on all cylinders and yet the lone village of Domremy sits free and unconquered, a thorn in the side of the German lines. A young female officer (this is a fantasy RPG after all) named Karin Koenig is sent to capture the village, but a demon is guarding the prize and makes quick work of the Germans.

GamesFirst!
9 November 2004
  • Excerpt: With no major SquareEnix releases this holiday season for PS2, RPG gamers are free to open their arms and embrace the rest of the genre. Midway's Shadow Hearts: Covenant fills the void between Final Fantasies quite nicely and might make you forget all about spikey haired heroes or heroines in short shorts. Read all about it here.

Shadow Hearts : Covenant

JeuxVideo.fr
10 May 2006
