Excerpt: Invention isn’t really a word you would associate with the licensed platformer, as going down the safe route and attaching a name generates sales anyway, so who needs to be wearing a thinking cap? Nevertheless there’s still room for a good platform game in our book. Much like this very review, Scooby-Doo! Unmasked is as generic as they come with only the slightest hint of invention.
Excerpt: Scooby-Doo! Unmasked brings back everyone's favorite four-legged sleuth in an all new adventure that will pit the K9 detective against many of the classic monsters that made him famous. Unlike most (if not all) previous Scooby-Doo titles, this one comes in wonderful cel-shaded goodness.
Conclusion: So overall, if you are a lover of Scooby Doo and platformers this may be a game for you. It offers nothing new or exciting to the genre. It is well executed and does nothing functionally or cosmetically wrong, it just doesn’t set the platforming world alight. Perhaps it is a little too easy and not enough of a challenge. When my kids began to get bored of it and complained about the repetitiveness I started to think it may have missed the mark for the younger market too.
Pros: You get to say “rooby-rooby-doo” and “raggy”, It, feel like being in a Scooby Doo cartoon for a while.
