Summary: The first Rugby game I bought was Jonah Lomu rugby on PS1 and that was one of the best games I had ever played. The second Rugby game I bought (quite a few years later) was Rugby 05. I played this for about a week and got very bored with it. A friend of mine who is a huge fan of rugby 06 lent it to me on xbox and my life has never been the same. I wasn't expecting much as I was still disapointed with 05 but I thought I would give it a go.
Summary: I got this game awhile back and let me tell you, I have been playing it ever since. They have added lots of controls to the game including being able to off-load passes to another player when not fully down in a tackle, shimmies (or jukes), hand-offs, dummy-passes, and a whole bunch more. You're also able to use the illegal high-tackle to try and force a injury or turn over. If you're worried about not knowing anything about Rugby, don't worry.
Summary: This is the best rugby game so far. It needs improvement (better handling of lineout, scrum and ruck, taking more account of forward ability and management, for instance) but the 2007 goes backwards, actually reducing the skill element in the lineout (when it was pretty basic to start with). The PS3 offerings are wildly inferior.
Summary: This is a great game as I bought it for my son who is rugby mad. He was really impressed and loved it. He loved the lion's tours and the many features to the game. Overall a great game and a must buy for any rugby fan.
Summary: Rugby 2006 has had so much care put in the graphics, set plays(and new for 2006) club teams, off-load passing, quick line-outs and penalties, impact players and The Guiness Premiership!!!!!! It is the first Rugby game where the producers have ever took time over the graphics. It has detailed faces, celebrations and injuries!!!! If you like you can break the rules with high tackles or hitting an opponent-though your likely to get sent off for it if you do!!-.
Summary: I have owned alot of rugby games, but this one is the best....by a long way. The game play is really good and the graphics are great. For someone who wants to buy this game i would reccomend it but there are a couple of points i would like to point out(i am neutral but some of the ratings are crap!!) :alot of the players are over rated.
Summary: im a massive rugby fan, and this game really did impress me. Good Points Massive Graphics improvement on rugby 05 AI very good- A computer-controlled Jason Robinson will still go on a very mazy, jinking run Great attention to detail- Gavin henson's hunched approach to a kick at goal, Jonny Wilkinsons's clenched hands and even Gareth Thomas' trademark head slapping celebration New things such as high tackles, offloads etc.
Summary: A rugby game worth talking about. This is undoubtebly the best Rugby game made so far. The improvements in graphics mean every player looks more realistic and many of the top class players are payed special attention to, with many looking a spitting image of themselves. As well as an improvement in graphics, there is also a massive difference in overall gameplay.
Summary: All the people that have given this game a bad review must not taken any time to get to grips with this game because it is very realistic. The controlls are quite hard to learn but once you do it is a rugby experience. I have bought every rugby game that has come out for PS2, and this is easily the best. Much more fun and realistic than challenge 2006.you Many people have been rubbishing the rucks.
Summary: Now i wasnt much of a rugby fan before i got rugby 06 so i was a bit nervouse when i was handing over my cash when i bought this game. but after playin my first match (i was preety rubbish cos i didnt know what buttons did what)i was hooked and i am glad to say that i am know a big fan of rugby. This game is execelent. even if your not a fan of rugby i erge you to bye this game.
