KOEI have created a very good strategy game in Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII that is on a par with the best turn-based games on the PC. As a fan of strategy games I've found it refreshing that such an accomplished strategy game is available on the PlayStation 2. There are a few areas of the game that could be improved but all things considered it's a must for strategy fans who have access to a PlayStation 2. Read more

If you’re a fan of Three Kingdoms games...well, you probably already have the game! But if you’ve never played a Romance of the Three Kingdoms title, this is definitely the one to start with. I’m waiting for Koei to make a quantum leap in the series one of these days --... Read more

This version of RTK is the best by far in my opinion. To do away with all the melodrama of other critics...this is one is the most versatile of all the series. The "growing pains" of your created character are directly impacted within the RTK world you play in. Lets be for real, what are the chances of a 90 rated free officer offering his services to a new jack? The concept of getting to know an free officer and building relations was great. The battle scenarios and... Read more

When I first saw RTC, I thought it was going to be just another boring two-bit excuse for a game, but after playing playing it for a day or two I started to love it. I will admit, it does take a little getting used to, but depth in the relationships between you and your officers is really detailed. The battle sequences leave a bit to be desired though, I would've liked to see some animation going on when using the tactics, but it doesn't draw away from the game. I... Read more
