Summary: The most realistic, exciting, and fabulous driving game there is. Ended my first rally in a ditch upside down, second coasted to a halt with a wrecked engine. Ok so the graphics don't match WRC or Mcrae but they don't make you wince when you run wide and are heading for a group of tree's. Go to school learn how to drive and away you go... I cannot recommend this game enough.
Summary: This is a good game for PS2, if you have a wheel you might want to change the steering to linear and have the steering extension at 4 which just about gives the game 360 degree steering, its a great simulator but the tracks are maybe a bit boring sometimes even with all the arrow help off. Worth buying though.
Summary: If you REALLY want to know what its like driving a rally car then THIS is the game for you. No easy handling let offs that you get with the official WRC franchise games this game towers over all else for simulation style realism. After plenty of practice with a steering wheel you will start to reap the benefits as the adrenaline really kicks in! Bumps in the road, sliding on gravel, speeding along narrow tarmac roads all faithfully reproduced.
Summary: Great game and very realistic simulation. The standard car set ups are unforgiving to drive, which makes slight bumps, water and hard braking tricky. Thankfully, the vehicle setting options are excellent and very comprehensive, so with a few tweaks you can make the car much more controlable. It is great to be able to control all the diff settings! :) ... Perhaps though, it would have been better to put an easier default setting on for the casual user.
Summary: Firstly, as everyone else says, the level of realism in this game is stunning. Although I am a bit surprised to see how well someone thinks the Welsh countryside has been defined given that the stages set in Britain are all around Gateshead, never mind. The car handling set-up and damage system is breathtaking. But and this to me is a big but, there is no longevity to this game whatsoever. It's difficulty will put the casual gamer off straight away.
Summary: This is serious stuff, which is to say it's quite difficult. Challenging, anyway. I started out in the 'Rally School', drove around a gravel car park, demolished a picnic table and rolled the car. "You're a natural at this," Richard Burns said, positively. Hmmm. He wasn't too pleased with my performance on the next lesson though, but if you do well enough, he shares a can of Red Bull with you.
