Ratchet and Clank: GC by Sony

Game Monkeys
5 March 2013
  • Summary: Every now and then something comes along to surprise you and make you rethink the definitions of game genres, and Going Commando is definitely one of those games. Fun, exciting, innovative, and almost never repetitive, it is one of the best total package games I've seen in years.
  • Pros: Cool weapons, good level design, advanced AI, and a fun game all around.
  • Cons: No multiplayer? That's really all that's missing.

  • Excerpt: Secretly, I’ve always wanted a robot pal. Although it’d be nice to have my very own Terminator, I’m not unrealistic. Something manageable, like R2D2, would have been good enough. Sadly, I’ve recently been informed that Star Wars isn’t real and even if it was, it all happened in a time long ago in a galaxy far away. I can’t afford an Aibo, so things are getting desperate. I was planning on half-inching a spray-bot from the local Jaguar plant.

  • Excerpt: Leave it to the first game in a three game franchise to have the best box art. It’s been only two years since Ratchet and Clank first came out, and since then, we now have seen a total of three games. We’ve also seen Ratchet and Clank replace Crash, Spyro, and Jak and Daxter as the Sony platforming mascots.

  • Excerpt: Well, another year is about to close and with the Christmas rush comes the annual selection of our distinguished 'Game of the Year' award. I have to tell you guys, this is most likely going to be the hardest year ever when it comes to picking just one game that stands out as THE game of 2002. In the last few months alone, nearly five games have been released that deserve to be considered for the top spot. Among these titles is Ratchet and Clank.

  • Excerpt: It's easy to say that the life of the PSone was undoubtedly full of innovative games and genres, but the platforming genre was arguably dominated by two distinct developers: Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games. Crash Bandicoot (1, 2 and 3) and Spyro the Dragon (1, 2 and 3) took the PSone by storm - two groundbreaking platform releases containing gorgeous visuals and addictive gameplay.
