Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal

Playstation Illustrated
13 October 2005
  • Excerpt: Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel. Unlike other games in its genre, which try to bring in foreign concepts like GTA -style gameplay, Ratchet and Clank tries to simply perfect platform games by sticking to the roots. Like its predecessors, Arsenal is perfect in just about every aspect -- in fact, the only problem, albeit a rather selfish one, was the lack of cool swag this time around.

Game Over Online
22 December 2004
  • Excerpt: What can you say about a franchise that consistently has provided solid gameplay, enjoyable humor and amusing characters? Classic is the term that comes to mind, which easily sums up the Ratchet and Clank series. Harking back to classic platforming titles, the game mechanics of Insomniac’s franchise have consistently been entertaining for PS2 owners, raising the bar for adventure titles.

Expert Review

Game Freaks 365
4 November 2004
  • Excerpt: Last year’s Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando will go down in video game history as the best 3D platforming ever made. That’s a bold statement, considering it’s going up against Super Mario Sunshine, Mario 64, Jak and Daxter, and a few other blockbuster titles. If I had the choice of a single title for the entire 2003 release calendar, Going Commando would have been my pick.
